Dear Falcon Families,
We are making steady progress on our Library project. A great team attended our last work party and enjoyed the satisfaction of seeing order emerge from the chaos as well as the camaraderie of a lovely group of ladies.
On Saturday, March 14th from 9 to noon, we will have another get together. No experience or library degrees necessary! Anne-Marie Rupert will provide training and we would love to have other people join us.
For more information, you may contact me, Mrs. Rupert or Mrs. Maguire. Hope you can come!

To Change Reader Board
You have probably noticed our poor reader board on the outside of the building that is still advertising Thanksgiving holiday dates! We need someone who is able to work from, and move, a tall ladder. Weekly availability would be nice.
THANK YOU, FALCON FAMILIES AND FRIENDS!
8th Grade Burgerville Fundraiser a big success
Our graduating students send a heart-felt “thank you” to everyone who came to their Burgerville Fundraiser. The class earned $500 towards their end of year Oregon Shakespeare Festival trip to Ashland. Kudos to Mrs Wrenn for all her hard work. Your support is appreciated!
THANK YOU, HOST FAMILIES!
Thirteen students and their teacher will arrive from from Suzhou Experimental School in Suzhou, China to spend a week as Falcons. This exchange is part of the Confucius Classroom program and would not be possible without the host families who have so generously opened their homes. Thank you to the Hungerford, Jayaweera, Rupert, Elkins, Maguire, Mitchelldyer, Nacrelli, Dodson, Perkins and Masterson families!

This event, spearheaded by the PTA, will be our main fundraiser of the year. Tickets will be on sale soon: $35 per person or $60 per couple (over 21 only).

Please read over the Auction Handbook to see how we can all join together to support our students at CHPCS.
If you have questions, please email PTA or attend the upcoming PTA meeting on Wednesday, February 11 at 6:30 pm after Pizza and Bingo.
Thank you for making our auction a success!
FAVORITE TEACHER CONTEST
Every year, Barnes & Noble holds a contest to celebrate the amazing work that teachers do. Students in Middle and High school may write an essay, poem or thank you letter about their favorite teacher. Entries are due by March 1st.
A panel of local judges selects the Local Favorite Teacher. The winner from each local store receives a $500 Barnes & Noble Gift card and is submitted to the Regional contest. The winner from that level is sent to the National My Favorite Teacher Contest, and the National Favorite Teacher receives $5,000 for themselves and $5,000 for their school.
The local winner will be honored at Clackamas Town Center Barnes and Noble’s award ceremony on April 16th as a part of their Spring Educator Appreciation.
The entry form for students is attached. You may submit your entry to Mrs. Denman, who will send them all to the Clackamas store or you can deliver it to the store by the deadline.
DR.SEUSS’ BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION & FAMILY READING NIGHT
March 5, 2015, 6:30 – 8:00
You are invited to join the CHPCS community for a free night of literacy fun! Each classroom teacher will be reading a fabulous book and leading a fun project for families to enjoy. Sign ups will go out soon via email and teacher blog. Based on feedback from last year, we will be trying an electronic sign up option. Families will be able to fill out the form online or in hard copy. Sessions will be filled on a first come, first served basis, so sign up early. Once your form is turned in, either electronically or hard copy, you will receive an email confirming your selections or letting you know the session was full.
This night is NOT just for primary students and middle school students are encouraged to attend. Also new this year, we will be holding a teacher vs student Battle of the Books battle at 7:30. 3rd – 8th grade students may sign up by the gym to be on the student team.
